Warrior Cat Trading Cards [Info/Pics]

I've had a lot of people asking about Warrior Cats trading cards. How do you get them? What cats are there? Why is Tigerstar so pudgy and cute? Okay... not really that last question, but I bet now you're wondering that too.

I've posted about these cards before, but I think they're so awesome that they deserve another mention. So... what are exactly are Warriors trading cards? They are little cards that come with the purchase of most Chinese Warriors books. A different card with each book. Each series features cards with cats from that series. The cards released so far are...

Warriors - Original Series: Firepaw, Bluestar, Tallstar, Graystripe, Tigerstar, and ThunderClan.

Warriors - The New Prophecy: Brambleclaw, Feathertail, Leafpaw, Onewhisker, Crowfeather, and Hawkfrost.

Warriors - The Power of Three: Hollypaw, Jaypaw, Lionpaw, Blackstar, Squirrelflight, and Breezepelt.

So far, no Omen of the Stars cards have been released.

There are two ways to get your paws on these awesome cards.

1. Go directly to China to purchase the books with cards included.

2. Purchase them off this website.

Unfortunately both require that you speak Chinese - and if you are like me, utterly hopeless at trying to decipher the strange symbols, then you're out of luck. :( I've found no other places (in English) where you can buy the books with trading cards, or just the cards.

Hi everyone, The holidays are almost here, which means only one thing: 2009 is nearly over, and it's time to say goodbye to our Year of Facts. Thanks for putting up with me on my voyage of discovery through trivia. For the last fact of the year, I thought I'd give you a chance to guess what I found out. Just for fun, no prizes (seeing as I'll be giving you the answer later on). You can just feel unbearably smug if you get it right. It's been a pretty good year to be one of the Erins: fabulous and FUN tour in April, watching Seekers get a firm pawhold on the bestseller lists, having my suspicions confirmed that Bluestar's Prophecy could be the best Warriors book ever. As always, it's been a pleasure and a privilege to work alongside Kate, Cherith, and Tui and see the storylines come to life in ways I barely dreamed of. For us, the best Christmas gift has to be the response to the first book of Omen of the Stars, The Fourth Apprentice. You have no idea how relieved we are when you like the beginning of a new series! Oh, and for those of you who are still wondering, the Twolegs camped near the beavers' dam are indeed wildlife scientists who recently re-introduced beavers to the area and have stayed on to record their progress. It's hard to convey that kind of detail when cats wouldn't have words for photographic equipment or laptops, so Canny Purrs to those of you who figured it out! If you're positively aching for a new book before the end of the year, Power of Three Book Five: Long Shadows comes out in paperback on December 22nd. Perfect for very last minute gifts, or an extra treat for yourself under the tree. For those looking to escape from festive mayhem for a moment or two (I know I need to take refuge from the jollity for a couple of hours every day), don't forget to bookmark the Warriors and Seekers Fanatic Challenge on the Official Message Boards. Warriors Movie?

Perhaps you have heard the rumors floating around about there being a Warrior Cats movie. Maybe you've also heard the rumor that Zac Efron was cast as Firestar...but are these rumors true? Or are they false? I'm here to answer some questions about the "Warriors movie."

Now I'll admit now, I don't know everything about the "Warriors movie." But I have heard bits and pieces which I'll share with you.

First off, the rumor about a Warriors movie is...TRUE! Barely though. The Erins are talking with major movie producers, but nothing is solid or confirmed yet. The talk may end with a movie, or it could end with the movie studio saying "Well, its a great book...but we really don't want to make it a movie now."

According to Wands and Worlds, Vicky is writing an EARLY stage of the script, but they are still a long ways off from casting, or even confirming the movie. The script is most likely for the studio to decide if they really want to create a movie about Warrior Cats.

If the studio does begin work on the movie, don't hold your breath! It could be two years before the movie hits big screens. :(

Secondly, the rumor that Zac Efron will be playing Firestar is...100% FALSE! The movie hasn't even been casted yet.

So there MAY be a Warriors movie, but don't expect Zac Efron to be in it!

Code of the Clans

Warriors Code of the Clans is a brand-new Warriors book coming out on June 9th, o9.

This new book will tell the previously untold stories of the past... Questions will be answered, stories will be told and secrets will be reviled!

On the cover, you can see the leaders of all four Clans, Blackstar, (white tom with black paws) Firestar, (Ginger tom), Tallstar, (black-and-white tom) and Leopardstar. (Spotted gold-and-white she-cat)

Unfortunately not many details about this book have be released...It looks like it will be telling stories of when the Clans lived in the forest, since Tallstar is present and Onestar is not.

If you look closely, you can see that Tallstar's eye color is wrong. In the books, Tallstar is described as a black and white tom with amber eyes. This cover depicts him with greenish eyes...in fact all the leaders (except for Firestar) have the wrong color eyes. They are described in the books as having amber eyes. yet their eyes are green or blue. Hmmm....

Blackstar almost looks like Cloudtail. He's so cute and cuddly looking! ^.^

Jayfeather Pictures!

I saw this picture the other day and thought it looked a lot like Jayfeather. What do you think?

I love this cat's eyes. They are a beautiful soft sky-blue, and the grey tabby pelt of this cat really complements the eyes.

Also, Warrior Cats news has been very slow lately. Not many new developments are happening...I think the Erins are up to something!

Ravenpaw's Path

The Warriors Manga series continues with a new trilogy all about...none other then Ravenpaw! Ravenpaw went to live with Barley, waaaaaay back in the first series. He has been seen a few times since then, but nothing has not been heard from him since the Clans moved to the lake.

Zip.

Nada.

No, seriously it was like he fell off a cliff or something.

But now, Ravenpaw is back! His new manga trilogy will be released at the same time Omen of the Stars: The Fourth Appprentice. The first manga book is titled Shattered Peace. (the book cover can be seen on the right...) So far nothing has been released about the plot of the manga.

If you look closely though, you can see Ravenpaw standing bristled on the top of a two-leg nest. Dogs are barking at him and the two-leg nest is going up in flames. Heres my theory...remember how there was always dogs around the farm? I think they may have somehow triggered the former safe haven of Ravenpaw and Barley to go up in flames. We don't see Barley on the cover, making us wonder if he made it out of the fire. I think Ravenpaw will have to find the Clans. I also think Ravenpaw will end up living in the barn that Daisy came from.

That's just a theory though, the actual plot could be waaaaaaay different.

The second book of the series will be called A Clan in Need. The third and final book of the Ravenpaw manga series will be titled; Violet.*

Keep your eyes open for this mysterious manga! It hits stores on the 24th of November!

It's Coming....

Its coming... Warriors Sunrise is coming out on April 21st! It is the conclusion of the Power of Three series. For more details, check out my next post...

In a recent newsletter, Erin Hunter said this about the Power of Three series,

"This series was harder than most to end because it meant saying goodbye to a major character (gasp!) as well as resolving some questions that have been hanging on for answers since the very start of the series. We've developed quite a taste for keeping you in suspense, bwa-ha-ha! I started Omen of the Stars thinking maybe we wouldn’t be so mysterious this time, but it's proving hard to resist. :)"

I can't wait! What questions do you think will be answered? Will Jay, Holly & Lion's prophecy fate be reviled at last? Will Erin & co finally answer the question that's been taunting us since the very beginning... "Why on earth is Rowanclaw a boy now and how'd he do it?"

...

Or something like that. Remember, this book hits stores on the 21st of April. (That's not even a week from today!) DON'T MISS IT!
