The release date for the second book in the Omen of the Stars series, Fading Echoes, is coming up exactly one month from today. (March 23!)Warning! Spoilers ahead!
Fading Echoes is going to be MINDBLOWING! Erin Hunter has said Leopardstar will die in this book and Mistystar will be the newest leader of RiverClan.
Many theories are floating around about this latest book in the Warriors saga. Here is one of the current theories:
Warriors Wiki has a fantastic teaser from Victoria Holmes: "Things are getting very tense, with Jayfeather about to swallow his pride and seek help from the other medicine cats for a young warrior who's been horrifically injured by a falling tree..."
One rumor is that it would be Brambleclaw who is wounded by the tree. A rumor is going around that Brambleclaw will be horrifically injured after Firestar's death, in order to let Lionblaze become leader of ThunderClan. Could the injured warrior mentioned in the quote be Brambleclaw? Maybe... If you look closely you can see that the quote says "a young warrior..." Brambleclaw isn't exactly young. He seems to me like more of a senior warrior, not a young warrior. Who could this young ThunderClan warrior be? Only time will tell...

I hope Lionblaze OR Brambleclaw both don't become leader! We need a female leader! There should be a female leader after Firestar! Like Sorreltail or Cinderpelt! Lionblaze can't get hurt in battle, so he would never die if he was leader. And brambleclaw is just plain stupid, selfish and mean. Also, Lionblaze very boastful.

I have a hunch Lionblaze will be leader - Erin Hunter seems to be hinting at it with the prophecy. I agree, a female leader would be fantastic. It would be heartwarming to see Cinderpelt's dreams of being a leader to her clan finally come true. She's a wise she-cat who would do well as leader. Lionblaze may be immune to battle wounds, but he sure wasn't immune to Tigerstar! I disease, accidents, snakes and infection could also steal lives off him if he was to become leader. I'm pretty sure Brambleclaw isn't going to be leader - but who knows, maybe Erin will surprise us.... Lionblaze does seem like rough material but maybe the responsibility of the prophecy and being leader will straighten him out? It certainly did SOMETHING to Firestar. D:

Icestar - Dovepaw would be cute as leader, I think she's too inexperienced though. I think she'd be better as Jayfeather's apprentice. I've heard that Hollyleaf is dead and resides in the Dark Forest. I've also heard she won't stay there for long if Tigerstar gets his way... I know for a fact that her story is not finished and one way or another she will be returning.
I don't know why Hollyleaf is in the Dark Forest. She wasn't that bad of a cat. I reallyhope Lionblaze or Brambleclaw don't become leader! They both don't seem right for the job! Abd also, since lionblaze is Firestar's kin, the clan might think it un-fair, that most of Firestar's kin gets special responsibilities(Leafpool-medicinecat, jayfeather-medicine cat) So I don't think he will. Let someone who ISN'T related to Firestar be leader.
Why would Dovepaw be good as Jayfeather's apprentice?! Have you read WOOT yet?

Dreamstar- Exactly what you said on Kate Cary's Blog! And here's exactly what I said there: It's possible for Lion to die every now and then. (ie. greencough, unaware disease, badger, fall off cliff, every cat in the forest jump on him, etc)
Ivypaw's warrior name will be Ivypool, after a girl named Ivy Poole. Ivypaw was supposed to be a villian, but now she's going to be a herione. Well, that's what my friend Warriors101 says. (see www.warriorsauthorblogs.blogspot.com) Hm, personally, I think Lion and Bramble are o.k. and that IF Lion becomes leader, Cinderheart will be deputy! But it is a IF. I dunno. I think Graystripe will be leader, because he still is kinda deputy.... Brambleclaw never was the real deputy, remember? The cat hurt by a falling tree I think will be Cinderheart! I just have a hunch...
Dreamstar - She may have been given a choice and chosen to go to the Dark Forest. Perhaps Tigerstar brought her there? I'd be very interested as to why on earth she ended up there while Bluestar went to StarClan. Ashfur (I may be incorrect) didn't even make it to the Dark Forest. I believe he resides in neither StarClan or the Dark Forest.
I can see your point with Firestar's kin - he did, however earn the right for his kin to be in such powerful positions. The prophecy fits well with that too. For ThunderClan's sake I sure hope Jayfeather and Lionblaze stay on the "good" side! An "evil" meddie and possible leader would be catastrophic!
She has a nice nature and special abilities that could be utilized well with her as a medicine cat. She might be able to find crucial herbs in a time of crisis. While I think it would be interesting for her to be a medicine cat, I know the job of a warrior suits her much better. WOOT?

I agree with your comment, Goldenstream. Lionblaze can die - it would just be a bit of a challenge. Poison might work well to kill him. It could easily rob him of multiple lives. A wound like Tigerstar's could kill him quickly as well. StarClan forbit another cat suffer like Tigerstar! D:

I wish I had a pretty name like hers that Erin Hunter could use! x3 Hmmm interesting... I'm wonder how Ivypaw's story will turn out. I've heard she falls under Hollyleaf's influence...
Cinderpelt as deputy would be nice. (: I would really like to see her in a higher position. I like the new music notes!

Dawnblaze - As much as I LOVE and adore Graystripe, I doubt very much he will be leader. He's getting old and I believe he may retire in the foreseeable future. (hopefully a LONG, LONG time away!) He does have great leadership traits though! He's fair, kind and wise.
I hope its not Cinderheart! :( It would be such a shame if she was disabled again!

I liked Hollyleaf as a character. It's a shame people are being "OMG. SHEZ LIKEZ SUCH A BAD HORRIBLEZ CHARACTHER!!!!" because she isn't.
I also agree that I would rather love that anybody somewhat related or close to Firestar would get the important positions. Such as Leader. Deputy. Medicine Cat. Such and such. Time for a female leader in Thunderclan and more not-related important positions in the clan. Ok.. sorry, I'm rambling about stuff that isn't necessarily related to this..
My opion is taht I think LIONBLAZE really shoudln't become leader and BRAMBLECLAW also shouldn't become leader. I APSOLUTELY THINK CINDERHEART SHOULD BE LEADER!! I also think that if she dies i think hollyleaf should be leader. I think what happens to her is she comes back to thunderclan. THen she apologizes for her actions and then whoever was deputy dies such as brambleclaw. Then Firestar dies *tear runs down cheek* THen whoever is leader at that point will put behind her evil past and made her deputy. And then HE dies. And she becomes leader

Dreamstar, Brambleclaw is NOT SELFISH MEAN OR STUPID!!! HOW CAN YOU SAY HE'S STUPID??!!!! ERIN HUNTER EVEN WROTE IN WARRIOS: CATS OF THE CLANS THAT BRAMBLECLAW WAS THE ONLY CAT SMART, SENSIBLE, AND A GOOD LEADER ENOUGH TO MAKE THE JOURNEY TO THE SUNDROWN PLACE!!! SHE ALSO SAID FIRESTAR COULDN'T HAVE MADE THE JOURNEY!!! Lionblaze isn't boastful! Just because he told Ashfur he wasn't being tough enough on him!! That's the only time he kinda "bragged"! Name another time! There is no other time! Plus, the only reason he said that to Ashfur is because it's true! He's one of the three! He can't get hurt in battle, so NOTHING would be tough enough for him! And Goldstar, FA means Omen of the Stars: Fourth Apprentice...

Icestar/Icestorm. What do you mean hollyleaf isn't dead. I thought she was. Bableclaw isn't selfish and mean that hawkfrost. My least favorite charcter is Dovepaw, I think she's just stupid, I mean who DOESN'T want a greater destiny that her clan mates? I agree a female leader would be awesome. I didn't like Hollyleaf. She was a whiner, at best.I didn't like FA, Whenever I re-read it I skip the Beaver chapters.
Sorry for writing so many comments, but my theory's for the next book are
1. Hollyleaf is alive and will return to Thunderclan.
2.Dovepaw finds out Ivypaws shocking secret- that she is training with Hawkfrost and Tigerstar- and doesn't know to keep the secret or not.
3.Lionblaze is blamed for killing Russetfur and tries to explain he barely scratched her. ( Well, I think a warrior from the dark forest killed her and is making it look like Lionblaze killed her so Shadowclan will kill him, which is impossible unless they poison him or something because he can't be beaten in battle.)
4.Either Firestar or Brambleclaw will die.
These are just the things I think will happen :)
Ok people i have read allthe OOTS books that are currently released hereswhat happed and my theroy. Okay so Leopardstar died and mistyfoot became mistystar. One of tawnypelts kits,Flametail died when he drowned. And dovepaw is falling in love with TigerHeart. Firestar WILL die in the OOTS series Erin Hunter has already wriiten the scene. and Ivypaw IS jealous and trains with HawkFrost in the dark forest. The battle between Starclan,The Dark FOrest and the 4(maybe 5)clans will have a sad outcome(i think.
Heres My theroy:
SkyClan or the tribe will come and help the clans fight the dark forest. Firestar might die in this battle and brambleclaw will die too. LionBlaze will become leader because brambe claw is his dad and JAyfeather is a Med. Cat. HollyLeaf i believe is dead but her spirt was trapped under the dirt and wanders like a sort of ghost. Squrrielflight and Brambleclaw wont make up before bramble dies and Squirrel will move on. LionBlaze will convince CinderHeart to love him and they will be mates. The Med.cats will begin to hate eachother and take away the special boudiarys. That is my theroy maybe it will be proven later. ~StreamFeather
