Warriors: Series 5?

There has been much speculation about the fifth series of Warriors... Who will it feature? Will it be a continuation of Omen of the Stars? Will there even be fifth series?

There's good news for Warriors fans: HarperCollins has contacted Vicky, asking for another series. This series will most likely take place before Firepaw ever came to the forest -- before Bluestar -- all the way back to the "dawn of the Clans," according to Vicky.

No other details have been released -- but I'm very excited at the idea of series five!

Warrior Cat Trading Cards [Info/Pics]

I've had a lot of people asking about Warrior Cats trading cards. How do you get them? What cats are there? Why is Tigerstar so pudgy and cute? Okay... not really that last question, but I bet now you're wondering that too.

I've posted about these cards before, but I think they're so awesome that they deserve another mention. So... what are exactly are Warriors trading cards? They are little cards that come with the purchase of most Chinese Warriors books. A different card with each book. Each series features cards with cats from that series. The cards released so far are...
Warriors - Original Series: Firepaw, Bluestar, Tallstar, Graystripe, Tigerstar, and ThunderClan.
Warriors - The New Prophecy: Brambleclaw, Feathertail, Leafpaw, Onewhisker, Crowfeather, and Hawkfrost.
Warriors - The Power of Three: Hollypaw, Jaypaw, Lionpaw, Blackstar, Squirrelflight, and Breezepelt.
So far, no Omen of the Stars cards have been released.
(All in order with books. Into the Wild - Firepaw. Forest of Secrets - Tallstar. Etc. Click on a cat's name to view their card.)

Feathertail's Card...

There are two ways to get your paws on these awesome cards.
1. Go directly to China to purchase the books with cards included.
2. Purchase them off this website.
Unfortunately both require that you speak Chinese - and if you are like me, utterly hopeless at trying to decipher the strange symbols, then you're out of luck. :( I've found no other places (in English) where you can buy the books with trading cards, or just the cards.

Do you think America should have Warriors trading cards?

Doesn't Tigerstar look all fluffy and hug-able in his card? :3

Night Whispers Theories & Info

The cover for the third book of the Omen of the Stars series has been unveiled! (<---- See image to left) The third OOTS book is called Night Whispers and it is said include point of view of a ShadowClan cat. This cat is presumed to be Flametail - ShadowClan's medicine cat. Mark your calendars for November 23 2010 - the release date (according to the HarperCollins website) for Night Whispers! There's a lot of speculation about the release date - some say August 8 2010, while others say November 23 2010. I'm not sure which (if any) of these date are correct - I'm doing some digging into this.

Warning! Possible spoilers ahead!
The blurb from Night Whispers is: "The deadly battle between ThunderClan and ShadowClan is finally over. Now the three cats who are prophesied to hold the power of the stars in their paws—Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Dovepaw—are more determined than ever to stop the flow of evil into ThunderClan. But they will soon discover that this evil comes from places even StarClan can't reach..."

From this summery we can gather that there was a battle between ThunderClan and ShadowClan. This battle most likely will take place in Fading Echoes. What could cause a battle between the two Clans? Its no secret that ThunderClan and ShadowClan aren't the best neighbors. Even though Blackstar can be hotheaded - he's no fool. The battle between ThunderClan and ShadowClan would most likely be over something important... but what? Could ShadowClan have discovered the Prophecy and wanted the powerful cats dead? Or could Blackstar have simply decided that Firestar was low on lives - and if he struck: he could take out the "kittypet leader."

The blurb says "the deadly battle between ThunderClan and ShadowClan." We can assume this means we'll be saying goodbye to a few cats. We know that Leopardstar dies in Fading Echoes. Could this battle be the one that steals her last life? Perhaps RiverClan gets involved somehow?

Perhaps the final very interesting piece of information comes from the last sentence of the blurb: "But they will soon discover that this evil comes from places even StarClan can't reach..." Hmm... a strong theory is that Tigerstar (and possibly Hollyleaf) begin "influencing" cats, causing tension among the Clans... The theory continues, suggesting that Breezepelt is already under this "influence," and that Ivypaw may join him.

Here are some other interesting theories...

Night Whispers Theories

Tigerstar...
Could Tigerstar start the battle between ThunderClan and ShadowClan? He might be the "evil flowing into ThunderClan" mentioned in the blurb. In previous books it was revealed that Tigerstar is growing more and more powerful - and StarClan is powerless to stop him. From Lionblaze's dreamwalks with Tigerstar we know that the dark leader can wound others, even though he's dead.

In The Fourth Apprentice, Tigerstar is seen standing over Poppyfrost's newborn kits. Could Tigerstar be recruiting kits for villainous purposes?

DovexTiger starts battle
This is an interesting theory. Perhaps we'll see another forbidden romance with Tigerheart and Dovepaw? The possibility of a DovexTiger pairing has been hinted at throughout The Fourth Apprentice. Maybe love blossoms between them and we'll see a GraystripexSilverstream repeat? Still... it seems highly unlikely for Blackstar and Firestar to fight over two of their lovestruck warriors. At worse I think Blackstar would exile Tigerheart - not start a battle because of his affections for Dovepaw.

Tigerheart goes evil & starts the battle
Hmmm... in this could happen, but I find it very unlikely. I think the possibility of Tigerheart "going evil" doesn't suit his personality. It may be more likely that he is misguided.

In The Fourth Apprentice Lionblaze suspects that Tigerstar walks in Tigerheart's dreams. Tigerstar could easily lead the young warrior astray. Tigerstar could use Tigerheart to stir up hostility between ThunderClan and ShadowClan.

One thing is for certain: If Tigerstar is involved - its going to be bad news for ThunderClan.

Flametail falls in love?
It is presumed that Flametail will have a point of view in Night Whispers. Why? Flametail isn't an active, super-important character in OOTS - so why would Flametail get his own POV? There are two major theories I have discovered for this:
Theory 1: Flametail's point of view is prologue - nothing more.
Theory 2: Flametail has a forbidden relationship which plays a major part in the series.
Theory 2 has many holes - although it is an interesting idea. While this could happen - it would distract from the main point of the OOTS series: the Prophecies. This is, assuming Flametail is a main character. What if Flametail fell in love with Dovepaw? Could that make him important enough to have his own point of view? Maybe.

I think it far more likely that Flametail would discover something important if he is going to be featured throughout Night Whispers. What if he learns the existence of the Prophecy? Could that be important enough or him to get his own point of view? I'm not sure... What are your thoughts about Flametail in Night Whispers?

BloodClan returns?
Many Warriors fans doubt that we have seen the last of BloodClan. Could Night Whispers mark the return of this dark Clan? What are your thoughts?

What do you think of these theories? Do you have theories of your own? Post 'em here!

Three New Warriors Titles!

Two new Warrior Cat books are to be released sometime in 2010. The books are titled: Allegiances of the Clans and Battles of the Clans. Not much is known about either other then the fact that they are akin to the books Cats of the Clans, Secrets of the Clans and the newly released Code of the Clans.

Allegiances of the Clans will focus on 'relationships' of the Clans. (does this mean alliances of the Clans or cats making up the Clans though?) I'm thinking it will be alliances and partnerships with other clans because Cats of the Clans covered the cats making up each Clan. Unless Erin Hunter wanted to brush over some more cats? What do you think?

Battles of the Clans will obviously focus on past battles. Perhaps old battles will be featured in this book, like fights over Sunningrocks from the old forest. Maybe some ThunderClan ShadowClan clashes?

Code of the Clans is about how each part of the Warrior Code came to be. Not to be confused with Secrets of the Clans.

So there you have it. Code of the Clans was released today (June 9th) and the other two titles will be out sometime in 2010.

As always, I'll keep you updated with all the latest details.

Don't Forget!

Tomorrow, June 9th, two awesome Warriors titles will be released! First, the final book in the Tigerstar and Sasha series, Return to the Clans manga will be the conclusion in Sasha's saga. In this manga we'll learn why Sasha decided to give her kits up, sending them to the safety of RiverClan. Did Tadpole, Sasha's third kit, die persuading the queen to give her kits to RiverClan? Or did something else happen? Anxious fans will soon find out.

And the second Warriors book will be none other than...Code of the Clans! Have you ever wondered why the Warrior Code is the way it is? This book will describe how the code came to be! It will also give readers a glimpse on why Tigerclaw burns with his deadly ambition.

I probably won't be able to get my paws on the books the day they come out, so let me know how they are!

Upcoming book theories!

Everyone loves a good theory. Earlier this month I posted a theory about Tadpole. This theory brushed on the speculation that the Erins may kill Sasha's third kit, Tadpole to make the queen seek shelter for her kits in the Clans.

If you've read the latest Author Tracker email then you may have noticed the line where the Erins mention "When a tragic accident forces Sasha to make a heartbreaking decision about the future of her kits -- but will the Clans accept them if they know who the father was?" Does this mean the "tragic accident" is Tadpole's death?

If so, how does Tadpole die? Will the harsh leaf-bare finish him off? Will the lack of food starve him like when Birchfall's siblings starved from the lack of prey in the old forest? Maybe some carnivorous animal eats poor little Tadpole... Maybe the little kit goes missing?

Any way it happens, it seems like Tadpole will become the deciding factor with Sasha.

Theories, anyone?

Warriors Cards Pics

Here it is, the picture of the Chinese Warriors card game. You can see fuzzy images of the other cards as well!

Chinese Trading Cards

For the die hard Warriors fan (that's all of us, right?) the Chinese have created a Warrior Cats Card Game. Yes, you read right, you can collect (foreign) Warrior Cats Trading Cards. Cool!

I'll post some pictures of the cards next. Pretty cool, right? If you buy a chinese Warrior Cat book, sometimes trading cards come with it.

The most of the cats look waaaaaaaaay different from the American/Canadian versions, though Brambleclaw looks pretty much the same. On the right you can see several cats from the Clans, Firestar, (ginger tom) Brambleclaw, (solid brown tabby with green eyes, next to Firestar on bottom) and Greystripe (fluffy grey cat besides Brambleclaw with yellow eyes, short ears and white chest.) are among the cats on the front of the trading card pack.

Pictures coming next!

Code of the Clans

Warriors Code of the Clans is a brand-new Warriors book coming out on June 9th, o9.

This new book will tell the previously untold stories of the past... Questions will be answered, stories will be told and secrets will be reviled!

On the cover, you can see the leaders of all four Clans, Blackstar, (white tom with black paws) Firestar, (Ginger tom), Tallstar, (black-and-white tom) and Leopardstar. (Spotted gold-and-white she-cat)

Unfortunately not many details about this book have be released...It looks like it will be telling stories of when the Clans lived in the forest, since Tallstar is present and Onestar is not.

If you look closely, you can see that Tallstar's eye color is wrong. In the books, Tallstar is described as a black and white tom with amber eyes. This cover depicts him with greenish eyes...in fact all the leaders (except for Firestar) have the wrong color eyes. They are described in the books as having amber eyes. yet their eyes are green or blue. Hmmm....

Blackstar almost looks like Cloudtail. He's so cute and cuddly looking! ^.^

Tadpole Theory...

There have been a lot of speculations lately about Tadpole, the sibling of Hawkfrost and Mothwing, kit of Tigerstar. We all know that Tadpole never joined the Clans, nor was he ever mentioned in the Warriors books. In fact, the Sasha manga series was the first we'd ever heard of him. Imagine, another Tigerstar kit floating around all this time...
Eek.

Perhaps the most logical theory is that Tadpole died, persuading Sasha to take her remaining kits, Hawk and Moth, to the Clans for shelter. This would make sense. Sasha is a some-what stubborn cat and the death of one of her kits would surely persuade her to bring the others to the safety of RiverClan. (RiverClan is farthest from ShadowClan. Maybe Sasha thought her kits would be safer there.)

Another popular theory is that Tadpole went to live with Sasha, and we haven't seen the last of him yet. Maybe Tigerstar haunts his dreams. Or maybe Tigerstar doesn't even know Tadpole exists. If so then a plot must be brewing. Maybe Tadpole will return to the Clans and seal up Tigerstar for good. Or maybe...Tadpole is the new enemy...

Hmm...
Erin Hunter has us on the edge of our seats waiting for the next book.

Return to the Clans (Manga)

Tigerstar and Sasha return in the third installment of the Tigerstar x Sasha series. Return to the Clans is the anticipated second to last manga focusing on Sasha.

This manga (and the ones before it) are from Sasha's point of view. You get to see what her life was like while Tigerstar was plotting to take over the forest.

With a slightly diferent art style from the loved Greystripe Manga, Return to the Clans promises to have much in store for readers.

The plot is as follows;
Sasha has decided to return to the forest to raise her three kits, Hawk, Moth and Tadpole. The dark Tigerstar hunts Sasha's dreams, making her nervous and wary. The mother hopes that she is a safe distance from ShadowClan, fearing her kits will be taken away from her if Tigerstar finds them. The cold leaf-bear seems never to end, and Sasha begins wondering if her kits would be better off in the Clans, where they would be fed and safe. Sasha finds herself sinking into despair as she wonders where she belongs.

It looks interesting, I would like to see what happens to Sasha, she just kind of vanishes in the new series. I'm not particularly fond of this art style, its different from the Warriors Refuge art. =/

Do you think this manga will be a yay or a nay?
