More Omen of the Stars Theories...

Yesterday Silverstar posted a comment on my blog with a very interesting theory. I thought it was very possible so I decided to post it here with me replies/agreements/disagreements/more theories.

Warning, the following contains Spoilers for Omen of the Stars and Sunrise.

"Personally, I am kind of doubting that one of Whitewing's kits [Ivykit or Dovekit] will be the Fourth Apprentice.
I mean, first off, neither Whitewing nor Birchfall were main cats. And second, their kits are hardly related to Firestar. They are his great-grand-nieces."
You are correct, Birchfall and Whitewing were more of background Warriors in the series. Perhaps Birchfall and Whitewing are more important then Erin is letting on? Whitewing is Cloudtail and Brightheart's daughter--maybe Erin Hunter wanted to give Cloudtail's line some spotlight as well? *shrug*

"I'm thinking it would be more likely that [if Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight are still mates after the Sunrise incident], one of their kits would be the Fourth Apprentice, but that's just me."
That would be waaaaaaay more likely, I agree. I also think it would add a fantastic punch in the plot. Would Lion and Jay accept Squirrelflight's kit though? It must have been pretty shocking to find out that the cat you called mother is not your mother after all. I don't think Squirrelflight is the kind of cat that would enjoy sitting in the nursery with tiny kits crawling all over her. Then again, she didn't seem like the kind of cat to fall for Brambleclaw. (I was a bit surprised when BramblexSquirrel was introduced. I thought it would be StormxSquirrel.)

"I'm also still curious about something concerning Breezepelt though; In The New Prophecy, before Leafpool fell in love with Crowfeather, she felt a 'destiny' about him. Could that destiny be that he was the father of the Three, or now, the Four?
And, they made Breezepelt a main cat."

Crowfeather does have a destiny, perhaps it was to father the three, maybe its more that hasn't been reviled yet. Breezepelt isn't related to Firestar though (not that we know of)--and the prophecy was "there will be three kin of your kin." Erin has stated that the Fourth Apprentice would be revealed on the last page of Sunrise and she has also said that the Fourth Apprentice had not been born yet. (I'll have to find her author chat and post it here.) I do think Breezepelt will have a major part to play in this new series, since the books have been focusing on him so much.

"Just my little theory. I mean, not that long ago it was a 'fact' that Squirrelflight was the mother of The Three. They try to trick people."
Its a very good theory too! Good point, we'll have to keep our eyes open for any clues! Thanks for posting! :)

More info on The Fourth Apprentice

Now that the Power of Three series has ended (with a rather shocking conclusion) we all want to know what The Fourth Apprentice has in store for us...

WARNING! SPOILERS FOR SUNRISE! AND THE ENTIRE POWER OF THREE SERIES!

Apparently the new book will center on Dovekit, the "fourth apprentice." The new point of view was realized on the last page of Sunrise, were Dovekit was revealed to be the daughter of Whitewing and Birchfall. Since Whitewing is the daughter of Cloudtail (Firestar's nephew)--Dovekit ties into the prophecy.

Dovekit is one of the "Three" as stated in the prophecy, "There will be Three kin of your kin who hold the power of the stars in their paws." Hollyleaf has nothing to do with this prophecy. (It was revealed in Sunrise that Hollyleaf murdered Ashfur, making her the 'evil one') The Omen of the Stars series will have six books. The first will be titled The Fourth Apprentice and the second is called Fading Echos. The Fourth Apprentice will be released on the 24th of November. The new series will also introduce Beavers who will be somewhat evil.

I'll keep you posted with the latest details!
